I wanted an oriental female as the original artist was from the Phillipines, so an oriental female would fit her voice perfectly and image. I also wanted someone who looked beween the age of 18-22 as many Pop artist tend to relate to youth.
For the main role I asked a former class member ,Ellie who had studied Drama and was of chinese ethnicity.With the male role I had two possible actors who I could use but decided on the male Viet.The reason for this is because the actresses have known the other male and I wanted a real sense of young love and 'first date'. So I chose Viet as I believed the chemistry would be good and show a fresh type of relationship between the two. I found the male actor at my youth club 'SE1 United' and fond that he had previously been studying drama for his GCSE's.

As I was previously acquainted with Ellie I was able to contact her frequently and easily. When it came to acting I was able to skype her and ask her to show me different kinds of screen tests and I was pleased with them and decided to use her. I also used Skype as a way to plan what clothes she will be wearing and discuss if she was comfortable and confident enough to act with someone she had not known.

Through face to face coversations at my youth club i was able to assess Viet's character and asked him to 'act' in front of me and felt that he was a good actor as he did everything I asked for without hesitation; which I thought would be vital on the day of filming.
